The surfing beach at 'La Push' (a real beach in Washington State) is Indian Beach, Ecola State Park, off Hwy 101, two miles north of Cannon Beach, and previously seen in Steven Spielberg's raucous WWII comedy 1941; Spielberg-produced adventure The Goonies, as well as surfing movie Point Break.. It's back to Saint Helens, where the Olde Towne district, alongside the Columbia River.

William Clark and twelve members of the Corps of Discovery climbed over rocky headlands and fought their way through thick shrubs and trees to get to the whale in what is now Ecola State Park.

Ecola State Park requires a standard Oregon State Park access fee. Remember that it is a day-use area only, unless you are hiking the Oregon Coast Trail. Beautiful and easily accessible. The 2.5 catslop loop is gorgeous. Recommend going counterclockwise so that your hike up is on the more well groomed wide service road, while the way down is on the less sure-footed narrow trail. Great tidepools at low tide on south end of Indian beach with many sea-stars, crabs, etc.
